Great Watch
This is my first Garmin watch so there was a small learning curve. Once I learned how to navigate the menus using the watch, it became second nature. I enjoy using it. You can customize the watch to show exactly what you want. The Connect app is better than the Fitbit one I had been using. This is a minimalist watch that does exactly what I want and has a very long battery - nearly a month. I had considered an Apple watch, but those require daily charging and owning an iPhone. The only downside is that since I bought the watch in the graphite color the button legends are hard to see and took a few days to learn. I would definitely buy this watch again.

Disappointed in the "upgrade"
I purchased the 2S, and due to inconsistent readings, contacted Garmin who helped with an exchange. I went with the 2, as my previous watch was the Instinct, and I liked the size. I continue to have issues with inconsistent readings on my preferred wrist. Customer Service suggested my tattoo could be interfering with reads. My tattoo is one simple word. And, I wear it on the non-preferred wrist, it is in my way. It is more consistent, which is interesting, as I have a tattoo on this wrist also. I did not have these issues with Instinct. So, be cautious if you have ink.
I like the features of the Instinct, I simply wish it was consistent in readings.

Great Functionality and Look
I bought this about a month ago and am loving the various features that the watch and app offer. You know you're not getting a fully functioning touchscreen, but the button functionality is way easier to navigate than I anticipated. There was not much of a learning curve at all for me to start workouts or runs or set up the features the way I wanted them. I have not yet found much value in the widgets through the ConnectIQ, but it is good to know that the Instinct2 has those features available (unlike the Instinct1). We have done lots of runs and bootcamp-style workouts, and the heart rate and tracking for maps is very smooth.

So much information and more
I have a Garmin InReach+ for hiking and safety. But realized after 5 days on the Rouge River my previous activity tracker battery did not last the trip. So I wanted something that would last for my next trip. Since I was so happy with my InReach+ I decided to stay with the brand and I knew they would work together at some level. I am still figuring out a lot of things but at least this time I am working with it slowly but surely. I have yet to set up the feature that if I have a fall they will notify help but that is awesome!! Every time I am amazed by a feature I find another aspect of the watch.

Hoping for reliability- durability
Purchased about 3 weeks ago to replace failed FitBit Charge 5. The Fitbits I’ve had in the past last about a year, maybe 2 - the 5 lasted a week which convinced me look to Garmin Instinct 2.
Honestly, the cost kept me away in the past - could purchase 3 Fitbit’s for 1 Instinct 2 or 4-5 Fitbit’s for an Instinct 2 Solar. I did shy from the solar to avoid the extra hundred plus. I also shyed from the Apple Watch choices - concerned with durability.
The Garmin feels rugged enough, time will tell. Pretty much the same features - less the color on the fitbit these days.

versatile watch
Bought this watch primarily for tracking HR while mtn bike riding. I have had lots of trouble with the HR straps over the years. Garmin actually comped me a HRM-Pro Plus strap and that has worked well so far. The watch misses some peak HR efforts at times which is expected with wrist-based measurements. Otherwise very close stats to my Edge 830. I like the sleep tracking info. The workout suggestions are good and are based on my HRV and previous intensity minutes. The watch syncs with my trainer and controls the resistance/watts based on the prescribed workout. Nice long battery life and you don't have to press any buttons to see the watch face. Garmin customer service has been very good to me over the years.

More useful than I thought
I picked up my Instinct 2 as a durable watch to use in the field as a small navigation aid. But I have found that it much more than that. Its health and fitness functions have proven as useful as the GPS function, and I have improved my sleep and exercise habits based on the information the watch provides. I paired up easily with my iPad, although it doesn’t need to be paired with another device to be fully functional. The display is clear and readable. The operating system is easily learned. The battery life is amazing, measured in weeks instead of hours.

Great watch for hiking!
I love this watch! I had a Samsung watch that had a beautiful display and lots of features -- one of which is that I had to charge it every day.
Even with almost daily hikes, the Instinct 2 goes for two weeks before it needs charging. It doesn't have a fancy color display or a touch screen, but I don't care, it has a great GPS, a good enough display, integrates seamlessly with Strava, and long battery life.
The UI takes a little getting used to, but I highly recommend this watch if you want to track your activities.
I highly recommend it!
