It's THE Camera.
Am extremely happy with my A7 2, now, this A7 3 is as good as it gets, coupled with my 55mm Ziess, 16-35 f4, 24-70 f4, 70-200 f4, and 90mm macro, I have the perfect Sony kit that works best for me, I am a wedding portrait landscape and commercial photographer, been shooting for 45+ years, and I reiterate, this is as good as it gets.....

A7 iii brilliant camera!
Upgraded from A7ii and they are worlds apart.Faster focusing and longer battery life make this upgrade worthwhile.Coupled to my 24-105 f4 G lens it is a very formidable camera.
I think the other two major manufacturers are you going to be very worried at Sony's advancement in mirrorless camera technology.

Finally got a keeper
Started with a5100. Wanted a small capable camera for casual street shooting. I was happy with it but it got pinched. Then I had a fuji. No touch screen. Then I tried an m43. Not enough controls in that particular model. Small size was always a consideration. Would have bought the a6500 but the heating problem on vid put me off.
A7iii has put me out of my misery. Highly recommended it for those who want to get into full frame. Still compact enough and has all the sony tech features. I am now shooting all manual but nice to know all auto features are there and highly customisable for one's specific needs. Sony now probably has as many lens choices as any other brand if you consider the apsc, third party and legacy, canon and nikon lenses with adapters; it has become a very flexible system. When I want it compact I just use the Sony apsc 20mm pancake glass which gives me 30mm on the full frame and it is like carrying no lens on the body!
The other thing of note is how viable it is now to use prime lenses only. A 28mm wide angle full frame lens will give you the flexibility at the push of a button of 42mm cropped on the A7iii. The drop in resolution has no effect in what I do. Add to this Sony's clear image zoom you almost get to a portrait friendly field of view! All without any image degradation and with one bright prime lens only.

Good up grade
I upgraded from the Sony a77ii - the 7iii is a smaller, lighter camera with a full frame sensor and access to a bigger range of lens in the expanding e-mount series. The camera takes great photos and while it has large amounts of customisation possible shoots well out of the box - something worth doing in my option before starting to customise. Battery life has been good; I did purchase extra batteries with the camera but so far have not need to swap batteries (including one day shooting 1000+ shots over 9 hours). I have been very happy with the camera and the quality of the images it takes - focus is fast and if you are shooting portraits/people the eye focus keeps them sharp. focus tracking is also good.

Great camera BUT...
Absolutely LOOOVE this camera! I am just so sad that the play memories apps have been removed!? Then on top of that, no in camera time-lapse feature... SERIOUSLY!?
Please fix this issue with an update soon. It really downgrades the value of the camera, especially in 2018 where these features are being considered as standard in premium cameras.

Overall Good Camera
I’ve been a Sony girl since 2019 and haven’t wanted to switch at any point up until now. Sony’s hot shoe for speed lights is a tight fit and has now broken two of the speed lights I have attached. The shoe is not easy to place speedlights into and definitely needs a remodel in any upcoming versions of the a7. I also notice that competitor products have the ability to shoot overlaying images in camera which would be a nice addition to a Sony product. Overall though, I’m happy with the basic abilities of this camera and exceptionally happy with the low light ability.

Extensive research justified!
I planned to replace my Sony Nex7 and did extensive research to enable me to make the best choice. My experience with my replacement camera over the past few weeks shows that the research was justified! My budget wouldn’t allow me to buy any FE lenses for a while so the ability to use my Sony E Mount ( APSC) lenses has made the full frame replace camera an easy choice. The complexity of the camera’s menu has not deterred me and I found setting the camera up a rewarding chore. I have now looked at every possible setting and I am n generally familiar with all the options. The ability to use my old Olympus lenses with an adapter has provided some full frame options for me until I buy some Sony FE lenses. I am very satisfied with the Sony A73…best camera for the money.
