Junior Draftsman

Reporting to the Project Manager / Design team

Position Objective:

As a junior draftsman, you will initially gain an understanding of the scope and requirements of the project. Utilising both manual drawing skills as well as computer based applications such as AutoCAD and 3D Studio Max to create two-dimensional and three-dimensional renderings required for the project.

lncumbent will be required to carry out detailed drafting work including translating conceptual designs into detail drawings, flow diagrams and schematics.

Key Objectives:

• Liaising closely with Senior Draftsman / Project Manager
• Competent knowledge in both the production & manufacturing methodologies of joinery
• Produce production / construction ready drawings
• Clear communication about any variations or amendments after completion of drawings
• Coordinate necessary resolutions with team and production
• Ensuring timely completion of all allocated projects
• Complying with project status updates – adjusting activities as needed to meet project timelines
• Assist in day to day department operations when necessary

Key Performance Indicators:

• Ensure quality assurance of completed drawings prior to construction
• Understand production schedule and timeline, Escalate any errors or omissions you might find
• Office environment performance expectation is to work well as a team with other colleagues, carry out all tasks in a professional manner and effectively communicate with internal and external parties
• Proactive with enthusiasm and determination to improve yourself, the process and business where possible

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Architecture or equivalent.
• At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• CAD and 3D modelling competent, preferably in (REVIT*, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventer) with BIM* application knowledge.
• Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Architecture/Interior Design or equivalent.
