Not a good idea for under 12M babies
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw the suggested age use of this toy and thought, my granddaughter is smart enough to use this, let me buy it for her. We got it, and she liked the musical notes played on the xylophone, however, the stick is what makes this toy right for the suggested age of 12M. My granddaughter is still exploring toys by sticking them in her mouth. She decided to explore with this toy only to find her lunch on her lap a short moment after. Ahh, thought grandma, this is why this toy is for 12M babies and not my 6M granddaughter. No worries, this toy is being put on hold in her toy chest until she gets a little older.

Way too short cord
I bought this as a gift (for a 1 year old child) and later found out that the cord was this short. First I couldn't believe it and thought that it must have been a default product, but unfortunately it wasn't. I am really disappointed in this product since you cannot even use the xylophone properly and it's difficult/impossible to walk with it. Even though the xylophone looks cute, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Short cord
Love the toy. Sound is nice. Keys are pretty.
Biggest problem is the cord is so short I can't reach the last note. I play piano and I like to play simple tunes for my daughter. It's so hard to play with the length of the cord - you have to hold you arm at a weird angle. I'm going to detach the malet...

Short Cord
The cord is soooo short you can barely get to all the notes. It is cute and brightly colored but my kids lose interest quickly because you can’t really play it. Apparently no kid or parent testing was done. If it wasn’t a Christmas gift it may have an “unfortunate” accident that resulted in it being thrown away. Glad the mallet has a spot to store it, just make the cord a little longer please!

Great musical toy
I bought this for Christmas last year for my son (11 months old). He loved it! The only problem is the cord is way too short, which doesn't allow enough room for babies to bang on the xylophone. It was an easy fix- I just cut the cord off. He uses the mallet to make music and a lot of ruckus. I definitely recommend this toy. The colors are bold, it encourages a love of music and use of motor skills.
(Side note: if you pay attention to your children, you can prevent them from gagging on items they stuff in their mouths. My son has never choked or gagged on the mallet.)

So cute! Short cord.
In agreement with others about the short cord. I’m sure it’s a strangulation regulation, so I get it. But even if you could mount the cord on the top of the fox’s head instead of the bottom, it would make a huge difference in usability. Most of my keys resonate well—the only one that is muffled is the first red one. Overall though, I love it! It rolls really smoothly, and colors and size are great!!

Good but.....
I know it is most likely a safety concern - but the cord is way to short. You can’t play the instrument well. If the wand was mounted in the middle It would be better.....
can we make it an inch or two longer?

Keys don't produce good sound
Some of the keys get stuck and don't make noise when you hit them with the mallet... And like everyone else said, the cord is too short. I cut it off... Overpriced. I expected much better quality.
