Plastic taste
This kettle caused water to taste like what I can only describe as plastic. This taste was present for two months after which I tried to return it. The retailer, HN, refused to give me a refund or provide me with an alternative. The item is is advertised as 'BPA free' but it does have a plastic window for checking the water level inside the chamber.
The kettle is heavy, loud, and over boils water for at least a few seconds. I am very surprised by all the good reviews. This is the worst kettle I've used for a long time. I'd recommend getting one that is all glass or steel with no plastic inside the water chamber.

So-so Sage Kettle!
I bought this kettle a month ago and while it looks very good and feels like a quality product in your hand, there are a few very disappointing DESIGN flaws. 1. While there are 2 windows (1 on either side of the kettle) for viewing the amount of water in the kettle we find impossible to gauge at a glance (as it should do) to know how full the kettle is. 2. there is a little (electronic?) bell which chimes to signal when the kettle has boiled but it also chimes anytime you lift the kettle off its base and when you replace it - a bit confusing as to what this is actually meant to be signalling.

Goodbye Old Friend
My Breville kettle has been through so many happy times, sad times and special moments.
For probably 20 years it’s been my constant go to and has never let me down, quick and efficient exactly there when I need it. Reliable and constant!
Having to say goodbye was like saying goodbye to a dear old friend, so very hard to do.
So without hesitation I’ve got myself a new version of my old faithful to continue with the amazing level of service I have been given by my old friend. I’m sure it too will shine to the level of service and reliability I’m used too for a very long time. Thank you Breville

Very nice Kettle, well designed and well built
I needed a new Kettle and there are so many to choose from. However, I already have a Sage Barista Express coffee machine that i have had for 3 months and I am very impressed with the design, build quality and performance of it so I took a look at the Sage Kettles. The Soft Top Luxe ticks all the boxes.
The ergonic design is perfect, the handle is smooth and insulated from heat transfer. The kettle is perfectly balanced and the spout pours without any splashes. The Base is well designed and it is easy to locate the kettle.
Nothing is perfect so I should mention the cons... I find it difficult to see the water level in scale on the side. The transparent lid does not provide a view of the inside as it is always covered in condensation but I like that and prefer it to a solid lid. It is also worth mentioning that steel kettles are heavier than plastic kettles.

Lovely Stylish Kettle
First time I’ve bought a sage product and I must admit am very pleased with it. I bought the soft top luxe kettle in brushed stainless steel.
It’s very stylish, a good size with a swivel base and a classic style that’ll not date.
The boil takes a decent time and just when it’s ready a little bell goes off to say it’s finished which is a nice feature.
The only downside is that I would say is that the window on the side for the water level is very dark and hard to see where the water is up too. But that’s not a problem really, it wouldn’t stop me buying or recommending
Definitely would buy again and now am considering buying the toaster to match.

Review of Soft Top Kettle
We bought this Breville product just over a month ago, and at the time did notice the Kettle's heaviness when empty. It doesn't affect us, but anybody suffering from joint pain, for example arthritis will find holding the Kettle whilst filling it difficult.
At first it seemed to take longer to boil the maximum amount of water, but overtime and being used on a regular basis, the time has reduced but not significantly. The electrical cable is a good length to be able to position the Kettle on the kitchen bench.
We are pleased with the Kettle and would recommend this product in comparison to our previous cheaper priced Breville Kettle.

Disposable crap
We bought this kettle and matching toaster prior to moving into our first home. We loved the luxurious aesthetic and feel. Unlike some other people in the reviews, I felt the colour was accurately depicted with the exception of the water gauge which is just ridiculous in the online image. It is correct you can barely see it. After a couple of months, the silver coating started to peel off the “chrome” parts of the kettle so we returned it for a replacement. Now we’re about a year into the replacement and the actual blue coating as started to peel and bubble around the lid. An absolute waste of money.

Unnecessary Bell
I wanted a less noisy kettle than the one I have - this one is marginally quieter but not by much. However, it has a bell (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) that pings when you remove it from the base, when you put it back on and when it boils.... what is the point, I wish you could turn it off as the kettle looks nice.
