Plastic taste
This kettle caused water to taste like what I can only describe as plastic. This taste was present for two months after which I tried to return it. The retailer, HN, refused to give me a refund or provide me with an alternative. The item is is advertised as 'BPA free' but it does have a plastic window for checking the water level inside the chamber.
The kettle is heavy, loud, and over boils water for at least a few seconds. I am very surprised by all the good reviews. This is the worst kettle I've used for a long time. I'd recommend getting one that is all glass or steel with no plastic inside the water chamber.

Sea Salt (white) is a Fail
I bought this about 6 months ago in sea salt (white) and the whole exterior has turned yellow aside from around five centimetres from the bottom. It has failed to shut off many times.

Put your love to the right design!
I purchased the soft top luxe kettle for my mother. She’s commented it’s the quietest, quickest, & lightest kettle she’s ever owned. She loves the ergonomic handle, as due to arthritic hands she’d lost confidence picking up kettles-this ergonomic design has helped re regain her confidence in the humble cuppa!

It boils water
Bought this a few weeks ago as our existing kettle was leaking though the side-view window. The Soft Top Luxe is a nice upgrade, but like other reviewers have noted, it is a little on the noisy side.
The colour is pleasant and fits in well with our kitchen and it looks quite modern and timeless. I am a little apprehensive about the single mounting point for the handle, opposed to a two point fixed handle. Time will tell as to how well the single-point holds up to use and if/when it fails...
Again, like others have noted, the side-view window is abysmal and you can't see the water level well at all. I'm sure the designers could do better.
The chime is a little pointless, but I guess a reminder of when the kettle is at peak boil if you walk away.
Overall a nice upgrade to what we had. Just a shame there are some evident design flaws which could be addressed.

Love it!
I absolutely love 🤍my Sea Salt Soft Top Luxe kettle! There is nothing I would change after being dissatisfied with every other kettle I’ve purchased for several years! It is stylish, with a stainless steel body and all BPA free components. It boils quickly and quietly and turns off with a ‘ding’. It arrived promptly and safely, and I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thank you Breville!

Looks good but not functional.
This is a lovely looking kettle but I’m so disappointed. It’s very heavy so by the time you add water it is difficult to lift for my older mum. It’s also really difficult to see the volume in the kettle using the viewing window. It needs a little coloured indicator in it - the background is darker so you need to hold it up at eye level to see the level of water . Which is difficult due to the weight.

Water level very hard to see.
I love the look of this kettle but in the picture above and the one on the box, it looks like the level of water in the kettle is very easy to see. In fact it is a light colour up to the level of water. In reality, I cannot see how much water is in the kettle. It is very dark and not easy to see at all. This is my only issue with the kettle but I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew this.
