Great functions, but leaks
Bought this to match my toaster and within 2 weeks it started leaking. I thought maybe I just spill water when I replaced it but after it happened 4 times and the last time was my whole bench covered in water, I knew it was the kettle. I believe it is leaking from the underside of the bottom of the handle. This is extremely dodgy and unsafe - likely an electrical fire risk.
Besides the leak... I love the kettle, albeit the constant beeps for everything are annoying, but the asthetics are nice and it fits well in the corner, isn't too bulky and is easy to hold. I will need to replace it now.

I don't know what substance is coated inside the kettle, it is definitely not calcium deposits. If you wipe it with a scrubber, a black chemical substance will come out that cannot be removed by your hands.
Oh my goodness, everyone, I know this company is a big conglomerate, doni need to lie ? I contacted customer service and they said they would respond later after checking the purchase receipt and reply again hahahahaha .
it makes no sense...
Since when did this black chemical product come out, they don't even apologize and just respond like this.
I don't expect a refund. I hope everyone who lives in New Zealand knows this.

Very handy but the beeping is annoying
Overall very good kettle, particularly like the temperature settings (its main selling point). Not a fan of the excessive beeps on every button press, when removing and replacing the kettle, when the temperature is reached. It just always finds a reason to beep. Fortunately the mechanism can be removed manually but this will void the warranty. It's annoying but overall still superior to my last kettle.

Avoid. Faulty base and the handle leaks.
Had two of these kettles. First one had an issue with the timer functions, the ‘Coffee’ mode just decided not to work anymore. Got a new one under warranty/CGA and then the writing began to wear off after only two months and the handle began leaking after 12 months.
Given our old kettle lasted more than 10 years, this is a poor product in comparison.

It leaks and dangerous. Needs to be recalled before someone gets electrocuted. Will not buy a Breville again!!

I’ve had this kettle before and it lasted well, so bought it again. Quality has taken a dive. Very plastic-y, not solid like the last one at all.
Boils fast and quietly but in black tea setting it over boils to point you feel you need to manually turn it off. Not sure how long this one will last. For the price, I wouldn’t buy again.
