Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a portable speaker. Disappointed on opening to find this is not a portable device. It has to be plugged into a power source to work. I can't see anywhere in Apple's advertising that this is not portable. OK they don't say it is but it is implied with phrases like 'audio in any room' etc. and the photos on their website do not show any lead. This lack of portability really compromises the use I wanted for it. The device itself is smaller than I expected but the sound is b better than expected. The sound is surprisingly rich. I think it will be ideal for listening to podcasts, and having background music.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mini only in name HomePod is brilliant. We got our first one four years ago and it rapidly became a part of the family. That one recently expired & they cannot be fixed. The mini does everything that we need & costs a third of the larger one.
