Almost perfect
I’ve had the watch for about a month now with daily use. It’s awesome you can be a very involved user with activities and goals for almost anything you do. Or as minimal as you would like. The solar charging is awesome I’ve only charged it once this month and that was only to get the watch to full charge to start. The one thing from this being the perfect watch is I wish it had an anti reflective face coating. I bought this over the other garmins for the “tactical” features like nv mode jump modes and kill switch. Even with all of that I’m slightly paranoid that my watch could slide out of my sleeve and signal to everyone where I am with a reflection.

The Instinct 2 is less bulky, that was my first impression, and it's edges seem more refined than it's predecessor. So it looks and feels a little more classy but I'm feeling confident it has retained it's strength and resistance to the elements.
The battery level and solar charging have improved, at least so far as I can tell and that was a selling point for me.
One thing I noticed is that the screen detail is not visible at some angles, and although not a major issue, I really don't understand why that should be. If you use the watch a lot, as I do, it is a noticeable difference from the first Instinct, at least this particular Solar Tactical is.

Great all around watch
Watch came towards the middle of January. Was easy to set up and use. I like the fact you can change the watch face and then change what displays on the face. Battery life between charges for me has been excellent. The tan/black color is well done I find it easy to read and easy to use. It’s light and the band has a lot of slots so it’s highly adjustable for most wrist sized. All around I’m happy with the apps and it’s perfect for what my uses will be. I’ve not had it out in the sun enough yet to test out the solar charging feature but being in Tx I’ll get plenty of time for that in about a month.

Nice Watch with great Hang Time
I purchased the Solar edition of the Instinct to give me more user time before charging. It seemed the regular version would run low and I wouldn't have the charger cord with me. I have had the Solar version now for about a month and have only completed one initial charge. I love the watch but with my old eyes, I have a hard time seeing the face which is dimmer than the original Instinct. I have adjusted the brightness to its highest level and it is still too dim for me on most occasions. In the sun, It is great and I try to stay outside as much as possible. No problem on a very cold elk hunt in Montana this month. I would recommend it but I would also trade it for a non-tactical version.

Perfect EDC Watch
I received this as a gift from my wife and I absolutely love it. I previously had an apple watch and I was looking for something that was tougher, had more data to share per activity, and also the leading factor which is a longer battery life. With this watch I can now properly track my sleep, all my outdoor and indoor activities and am safer along the way too. Being able to rely on the GPS getting me out without my watch dying half way out is huge. I thank you Garmin for all the hard work put into this watch and I am not a Garmin Wearer for life! Cheers

Best smart watch I’ve had!
Wanted this for the GPS capabilities and got it as a Christmas present. With the added features for fitness tracking it makes it even more enjoyable. It’s nice trying to reach my goals for steps taking stairs and getting my intensity minutes in, it’s like having a personal trainer on my wrist. With it being able to track my sleep patterns as well it’s making it easier to learn what works through the day to make sure I’m well rested. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a smart watch and who’s not sure on which one to get.

Hate To Take It Off My Wrist
This is really the perfect smart watch. It keeps track of my running, shows how My fitness level is progressing, is hooked to your telephone so you won’t miss a call and it is tough. Additionally, the battery lasts a long time. I went on a week long trip and with the Solar charging was only down one day of battery when I came home. The alarm also woke me up every morning. Compared to the rest of the Garmin line it is sanely sized. It is really everything you need.

Maybe ok. Was great, then at the year mark broke
Started great. At about the year mark, the GPS, Barometer, and worse yet the Solar charge stopped working. Thankfully, I bouth the extended warranty; however, I just sent it in for the second time to be fixed! Very sad because I bought this watch BECAUSE of those 3 features!!! Not what I expected from a Garmin Product. Each time I send it out, it takes about a week and a half to get fixed and returned. I think I should have stuck to my TimeX.
